Day 4

Final Product

For this project we were to create a 3D rendering of a product we designed in  adobe Illustrator CS3. We had to use our knowledge of creating 3D effects such as Revolve and Bevel and Extrude. Using these options we could take 2D figures and make them 3D for better effects. I was inspired to create a sound system because of all of the music I've been listening to as of late. And the last party I went to we used many fun lights to high octane music, so I came to the idea of creating a sound system with LED lighting as part of it. The system itself is supposed to be balanced so I used a rectangular shape for the base speaker and two identical round speakers for the sides. I tried to create contrast with the fairly bright green against the shades of grey. I honestly feel as if this final product is better than my original sketch due to several changes I made on the original concept.

Final Product

So this project was actually a follow up and the final part to the lamp project we had just finished. In adobe illustrator CS3 we were supposed to create a room for that lamp, utilizing 3-D effects even more this time to create such objects as the poster or table i have in my project. The 3-D effect is to make our product seem more realistic. So I had made a mushroom lamp in the previous project, and to build on that i made a room that would seem pretty chill and fun to me just like when i had the thought in creating the lamp. Also, for the color scheme, believe it or not I had been playing a game that had the Joker in it so I got inspired by his colors and whatnot. And because the mushroom color was toxic I mad a poster with a caution sign on it as well as the table. And I can see that they came out weird, but using the bevel & emboss effect I made the two curved chairs, the table came out the best when I had used this effect. For the most part my final design represents my sketch, but I think I could have done a better job on the chairs.

myLamp

Day 1 - Sketch

Day 2
Final Product

In this project we were to make a lamp of our own design in adobe illustrator CS3. I chose to make a little mushroom touch lamp, I was in a silly kind of mood on our first day and a mushroom really just hit home for some reason. Also in this project, we were trying out something new that allowed us to make our lamps 3-dimensional, it was helpful to play around with the tool and learn how to use it. In this project the general idea i had was to make the mushroom pieces from basic circles, so most of this was made from that one shape. I tried to make the top of the mushroom stand out from the stem because I wanted it to pop out more to someone who takes a look at it, I tried to create some contrast here. All in all, I say this accurately represents my sketch, but a bit better.

Emotions

Colored Final Product
So this was pretty much our classes first group project in that our final products would be used together for one big piece. We were all given a specific emotion and through minimalism and symbolism we were to create an icon to represent the emotion. I was given love, to some that might seem easy. Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment to either a person(s) or thing(s). When I was deciding what kind of icon to create I knew I wanted to incorporate the heart in it, but through anther image. So i thought swans, because two mating swans at some point come together and do something that forms a heart with their head and necks. So with this idea in mind I created two swans forming a heart. I started with one swan first and then duplicated it to keep it all symmetrical. My final design resembles my sketch in that it has all of the details I originally had in mind.
